How we test & rank Amazon seller tools

Every ranking on AMZToolHub comes from hands-on testing against the same fixed criteria — not vendor marketing, and never a paid placement. Here is exactly how we do it, so you can judge our work for yourself.

Our principles

handyman

Hands-on, not spec sheets

We use each tool on live Amazon Seller Central accounts and run the real workflow it is meant for — not a guided vendor demo.

lock

Rankings are never for sale

We earn affiliate commissions when you sign up through some links, but no vendor can pay for a position, a score, or a mention. Commissions never change the order.

event

Every claim is dated

Prices and features change constantly. We take pricing straight from the vendor’s own page, date it, and re-verify on a schedule — flagging anything we could not confirm rather than guessing.

handshake

We include tools with no affiliate program

If a tool earns a place in a category, it is listed — whether or not it pays us anything.

How we choose which tools to include

We start from the jobs Amazon sellers actually need done, then map the market in each of our 15 categories. For every category we shortlist the tools sellers genuinely use, add credible newcomers, and remove anything that has been discontinued, folded into another product, or is no longer available. A tool that no longer exists never stays on the list.

How we test

1

Connect it to a real account

We link each tool to a live Amazon Seller Central account — and to other sales channels where the category calls for it.

2

Run the core job

We do the actual work the category is about: reconciling a settlement for accounting, forecasting a restock for inventory, optimizing a campaign for PPC, and so on.

3

Push the edge cases

Multi-marketplace payouts, low-traffic listings, mid-plan changes — the situations that separate a genuinely useful tool from a good demo.

4

Record pricing at the source

We take pricing and trial terms directly from the vendor’s pricing page, with the date we checked, and note anything we could not verify.

5

Write it up and rank

We write the pros, cons and verdict in our own words, score it, and place it in the category — then sanity-check that the ranking matches the write-up.

How we score

Each tool gets a score out of 10, built from five factors. The number has to be defensible against the pros and cons we publish — if the score and the write-up disagree, the score is wrong.

Capability & depth

Does it actually do the job well, at real scale?

Ease of use

Setup time, clarity, and day-to-day friction.

Value for money

What you pay versus what you get, at the entry tier.

Reliability & support

Stability, accuracy, and help when it breaks.

Fit for the category

How well it matches what this specific job needs.

How we keep it current

We re-verify pricing on a regular cadence and update a page’s “Updated” date when the review content itself changes — not merely when we touch the file. When a tool is discontinued or acquired, we remove it or relabel it with its new owner. If a vendor blocks us from confirming a current price, we say “check website” rather than publish a number we cannot stand behind.

How we’re funded

AMZToolHub is reader-supported. When you buy through some of our links we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. That is the only way we make money from tools — and it never influences which tools rank where. For the full details, see our affiliate disclosure.
